September 12 is Youth Rally Day at First Presbyterian Church. We invite all youth - from 2-years-old to high school age - to join us for Sunday School at 9:45 a.m.

Children ages 2 and 3: Sunday School will be in Room 216. We will have fun learning Bible stories using our senses to learn about God's love for us, investigating art, and sharing a snack. Teachers include Whitney Vincen, Shannon Wyne and Chris Daugherty.

Children ages 4 and 5: Sunday School will be in room 112. We will have fun learning Bible stories using our senses to learn about God's love for us, investigating art, and sharing a snack. Teachers include Sarah Roach, Les Hawkins, and Emily Hopta.

You can be a COVENANT KID...if you are in grade school (first through fifth), like to ask questions, like to learn using art, music, drama, cooking, computers, games, are curious about the Bible and God's love for us and want to explore how Jesus teaches us to love (even our enemies). Covenant Kids will gather each Sunday in the Chapel. Come and build a wall, a bridge and learn about Cain and Abel. Receive your 2010-11 Covenant Kid T-shirt. Feel free to WEAR YOUR PAJAMAS this week and BRING A NEW WRAPPED TOOTHBRUSH AND/OR TOOTHPASTE FOR OUR MISSION PROJECT! Barbara Hopta, First Presby Director of Child/Family Ministry, will teach the class.

Middle School and High School Youth will meet this Sunday in the Young Lounge, in the basement of the Activities Building. We'll start with refreshments, move on to some music and then seperate into middle and high school groups. This middle school's new room is A-109

6-12th grade youth and friends are invited to a Rally Day Pool Party 4-7 p.m. Sept. 12 at The Holyrods located at 1570 Hampton Road. The food and fun is provided - all we need is you!

Welcome to the website of The First Presbyterian Church of Charleston, WV.

It is our hope that through these pages, you will be welcomed and drawn into the life and vitality of our church’s life, mission and ministry.

Here at First Church we celebrate the fact that we have been engaged in ministry and service to and with the city of Charleston since 1819. Spiritually "standing on the shoulders of those who have laid that solid foundation,” we are convinced that our most exciting and fulfilling times are ahead of us.

I hope these pages will address any questions you have about our shared ministry, the future, and the possibilities of your role in it. Hopefully it will raise some new questions as well. Come and join us as we seek to hear and respond to Christ’s call and discover the role He has for each of us in His work today.
