Hymnal Project Update – The chair of the hymnal committee is coming to First Presby! Mary Louise Bringle leads the Presbyterian Committee on Congregational Song, the group that is working with hymnal editor, David Eicher, to develop our new Presbyterian hymnal. Mel will present a seminar on Saturday, March 31, as a part of Festival of Faith, and she will lead a combined Sunday School class for us the following Sunday morning, April 1. Her visit to Charleston is co-sponsored by the Presbytery of West Virginia and First Presby. Mark your calendar to get answers to all your questions about our new hymnal. Biographies of Mel and all the other members of the PCOCS are found at the Hymnal Project website: http://www.presbyterianhymnal.org. Please pray for the Spirit’s direction of this project; that the final results will be a Godly resource for our churches in the years to come.
IMPORTANT TAX FILING NOTICE: To ensure the deductibility of your church contributions, do not file your 2011 income tax return until you have received a written acknowledgment of your contributions from the church. Some of your contributions may not be tax-deductible if you file your tax return before receiving a written acknowledgement of your contributions. We anticipate mailing these statements by the end of January.
Copies of the January Parish Paper, a ministry newsletter provided by the Congregational Development Committee of the Presbytery of West Virginia, can be found on the information table in the hallway.
