Mission: Covenant House
Covenant House is
backed by the Charleston Interdenominational Council on Social Concerns (CICSC)
which is made up of representatives from twenty-nine organizations.

The Drop-in Center is
a safe place for those living in homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
Showering and laundry facilities are available, as well as free telephone
and mail service. Staff is on-site throughout the day offering crisis
intervention and emergency assistance with rent and utilities.
The Covenant House
Clothing Closet is open to anyone in Kanawha County needing clothes without
fear of judgment. Covenant House staff and volunteers coordinate the
distribution. Location: St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Washington and
Dickinson Streets. Hours: Monday-Friday 9:30-11:30 a.m.

judgment. Covenant House staff and volunteers coordinate the distribution.
Location: First Presbyterian Church, 16 Leon Sullivan Way, Charleston WV
25301. Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
In cooperation with
partnering agencies across the county, the Homeless Outreach program seeks
to move the chronic homeless into permanent, stable housing through
intensive outreach and case management.
Through Community
Housing, Inc., Covenant House maintains three Charleston residences for
people with disabilities who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The AIDS Residential
and Resource Program provides support services and housing-related emergency
services to HIV-positive West Virginians in 22 southern counties.
A statewide
organization committed to maintaining and improving small community schools,
Challenge WV chapters work to ensure best practices are in place in state
and local education policy development.
The Tech Team, managed
by Covenant House, provides technological support, consulting, and
operations for collaborating Charleston-area non-profit organizations.

Non-perishable food,
toiletries, paper products, disposable diapers — leave at the Education
Building of First Presbyterian Church; perishable foods —leave with a
volunteer. Clean clothing in good repair, bed sheets, towels, shoes —leave
at St. Mark’s Activities Building or in the designated container outside
First Presby’s front office. Sample-sized toiletries. Laundry powder.
